Day 1 in Romania for the team who are over there re-enrolling all the Grassroots sponsored children. They started at the BENITA centre and collected the bags of school kit for each child – funded by their sponsors. Then visited homes, handed out the kit, took photos and conducted short interviews. In one house there was even a chess match between Esther (on the Grassroots team) and one of the children!
Day 2 Claudio and his wife Lidia have been instrumental over many years in putting together the bags of school supplies for Grassroots sponsored children in Romania. They have knowledge in purchasing in bulk as a result of Lidia’s business and use it to get as much as possible for the children which is relevant to them. Claudio (pictured in one if these photos with a younger brother and mother of a family of sponsored children) volunteered to drive us around the beautiful Romanian hill villages yesterday and helped give out the bags he had prepared. He got to see the children smiling and receiving all the lovely kit he had worked so hard to put together for them.
