We exist to relieve poverty wherever we can and
tell people about Jesus through word and deed.

What work does Grassroots do?

Grassroots runs child sponsorship programmes in India, Kenya, Romania, Zambia, Kyrgyzstan and Tanzania.

People pay between £3.50 and £20 a month to sponsor a child.

This provides food, education, GP level medical care and accommodation. Each project provides a different combination of these things. Details of how the money is spent in each project can be seen on their project page. 100% of the sponsorship money is spent on the children, with none taken for charity administration or advertising.

Our child sponsorship programmes support over 3000 children.

We also organise mission trips where volunteers visit the programmes and help with the administration of the child sponsorship.

We also support a number of other projects where Christians are serving their communities in difficult situations around the world. Full details will be sent on request.

Who?

Each international project is organised by a local Christian organisation or church and led by indigenous people. Our UK based team visits regularly and is continuously in touch to support them in any way that is needed.

Hugo & Sharon Anson – lead our team and manage our projects. When not travelling to visit our partners, they work in the Grassroots office, which is in their home.

Andy Myall – manages Grassroots’ finances, insurance and online shop.

Our Trustees – Robert Sweatman, Rob Anderson, Stuart Boreham, Claire Corley, Mark Price, Jamie Walker and Bethany Rawding.

Speaking and Church Visits

We would be delighted to come and speak to your church, school or organisation. Just get in touch. Topics we cover could include poverty, aid, faith in an age of consumerism, sustainability, prayer, school linking and many other subjects related to the work of the Trust – do ask!
Grassroots team members are able to preach, take lessons and assemblies, lead discussion groups, lead interactive workshops, etc. We do not charge, but it would be lovely if any expenses were to be covered.
