Sponsor a Child
In Kyrgyzstan Grassroots works closely with a local partner organisation who identifies children in particular need, interviews them (along with their parent or guardian) and visits them regularly. Each child is sponsored for £7.50 per month (£90 per year). The money will be used to make sure the child you sponsor has what they need for school (or other appropriate education). Some will be spent on clothing. Some will be used for food and nutrition. Some will be used for other interventions, which will be different depending on the needs of the family. Finally, a small amount will be put in a fund that can be used if any of the sponsored children need medical help. The exact amount used in each way described here will change from child to child depending on how old they are and what their family already has available. The minimum spent on each child will be 100% of the sponsorship money – £90 per year.

Alternative Gifts
It is possible to give a little extra to your sponsored child or to give to the Kyrgyz families by buying an “alternative gift”.
