What a start to a year!
Over a two week period at the beginning of January a cyclone swept across much of Malawi, causing floods and destruction in many areas.
Down in the Lower Shire there has been widespread flooding and hundreds of homes have just been washed away, along with their contents.

Here in Tayali village we are working on the best way forward to help the people.
After much prayer and thought we have concluded that the future months are going to be the hardest for the locals. As they try to rebuild their houses, which can be costly to many, they will also need to buy food as their maize harvest has also been affected by the weather.
Most will get a much lower yield from their land this year and the years supply of food depends on this harvest.
We are embarking on a project to rebuild homes for the most vulnerable people in our area. This however we can not do alone.
