Morning everyone. Just a quick blog to say the team that is going to Mbeya to interview 2400+ children and share with our Tanzania friends is half way there. They left the UK on Thursday morning and travelled via Istanbul to Dar-es-Salaam. This morning they sent a message that everyone had arrived safely and the complicated process of getting on to the bus to Mbeya had gone smoothly. Hard to explain why this is so difficult, but we are grateful to Stanley and others for finding a way around the bus station being dug up!
the bus journey today should take about 13 hours – assuming no breakdowns or accidents. Both are common experiences on Tanzanian transport. Because of this we have decided to try to make this the last trip we use the bus. In the future we will use a plane from Dar to Mbeya. This service only started earlier in 2013 and will transform the experience of getting to Mbeya.
We will post more photos of the team here soon. In the meantime there are a few on the Grassroots Facebook page. Mobile internet is available across Tanzania but is very expensive so we will be using it frugally.
Please do pray for the team as they travel – and for Richard and the team in Tanzania as they continue preparations for the busiest week of the year!
