We received this great letter from Elaine today. She is from Masham School in North Yorkshire. It speaks for itself:
“We had our school council meeting today and we found out we had raised £950 through the cyclethon. WOW! Thank you for the list of ideas you sent us.
The children would like you to do the following with the money we will be sending you: They would like you to buy 100 mosquito nets, £150 worth of school books and then some PE equipment to be distributed to the school/s you feel would most benefit. They would also like to pay for 1 water tower!
Am I right in thinking that there is an annual cost for the upkeep of a water tower? If so, could you please let us know approximately what that is as we would like, as a school, to try and cover those costs every year.
Hope the above is OK, if there are any problems please let me know. Unless I hear otherwise we will send you a cheque for the £950 in the post with a covering letter.
Attached are one or two cyclethon pictures. It really was a good day on many levels.
Every child in the school is drawing a small picture of themselves which will be stuck on a sheet of card for me to pass on to Michael (the child the school sponsors) with the blanket some of them have knitted!! Is this OK?
By the way the children were all shown the new video clip and it sparked off some great questions, unfortunately time did not allow for me to answer every single one, we would have been there all day.”
Elaine is going to Tanzania as part of the Grassroots Mission Trip that leaves on 7 November. She has a real spring in her step!
