Hi there. On 20 September (next week) 8 of us will be traveling to spend time with two Grassroots partner projects in Nairobi, Kenya. We want to invite you to join us in being part of the team for this trip by following the daily blog update and also praying with us.
Good Neighbours is found in the waste lands of a place called Theta. This is a community without the basic amenities of water and electricity in many ways a dumping ground. George and Grace are our partners. They have started a church and school. We currently sponsor a number of children in Theta – providing school uniform, school fees and breakfast. The need is great.
During our time in Theta we will be interviewing the children currently on our sponsorship scheme plus taking on more children who need help. The team will also be involved in school lessons, church services, craft sessions, visiting people's homes and looking at how we can make life easier for this wonderful community.
Needs we are aware of:
- Concrete floors for the school
- School books
- More sponsors for the children
- Medicine
- Computers
- Food
Watu wa Maana Street Children's Rehabilitation and reintegration Centre
This is a small centre that rescues children from the streets, offers a home, education and begins to restore and build up the children and see families healed as they are reunited or new families are found. These children are amazing, many have horrific stories of abuse and rejection. We again sponsor some of the children and over the years have seen God do amazing things.
Needs we are aware of:
- help with school fees staff costs ie: social worker who works with the child and their families.
- medicine
- clothes
- food
