We have been non-stop since arriving in Kenya at 6:30am. Packed into our transport to our accommodation, we travelled across Nairobi. We are staying with nuns in Ruiru town – which is easily found on google maps (even if not on Apple iOS6!)
After having breakfast it was back on the road. This quickly turns into a never ending dirt track as we head towards the Good Neighbours project.
The roar from the children as we arrived was enormous! The children from El Shaddai School rushed to greet and touch us. Their faces beaming with amazing smiles. Very soon the team were engulfed by children… wonderful !!
The school is constructed from iron sheets and the land is small. There’s a desperate need for extra space. Grassroots is trying to raise the £6000 needed to purchase the next of two plots of land. This would enable more children to have an education in an area that has been ignored. Next stop we picked up 13 boxes of reusable sanitary towels. Many girls do not go to school because they have no protection.
Tomorrow we are off to Watu wa Maana. So, at the end of a busy day in Theta we popped in to say “Hi!” on the way back to the convent.
Now most of the team are tucked up in bed …. shattered, inspired and excited about tomorrow!

Just wanted to say thank you to all the Grassroots team for all their caring efforts.
I also want to say a big hello to Gabriel and all of his friends at El Shaddai school. Keep your spirits up children there are so many of us who care about you and your future not only all the teachers and staff in your school but many others further away.
El Shaddai is a fantastic school so a huge thank you and well done to the head teacher and staff alike.
God bless you all and we are always here for you even if not physically with you.
