Another fun day in Mbeya with team involved in a number of different activities.
30 Tanzanian children were packed into two trucks and, along with some of adults, headed for the conservation park. The children returned wide eyed with big smiles talking excitedly about the zebra, snakes and other animals they had seen for the first time. Really special.
Delivering water filters was an emotional time for some as they got close to the reality of life and the poor conditions of many homes.
Taking lessons in a local school also resulted in tears as for a UK teacher to see so many children (100) in a class and no resources like text books etc was just heart breaking.But although Tanzanian schools are poor there is no poverty in their warm and friendly welcome.
Completing 6 pig pens was very exciting as this enabled the team to collect the first batch of pigs for delivery. The families were so excited and so grateful.
Grassroots was also very grateful for the generosity of Bishop Luffa school in Chichester as they kindly purchased some much needed medical equipment. Thank you.
So another full day is waiting for us tomorrow… can't wait.
