We started a little later this morning. An extra 30 minutes in bed was gratefully enjoyed.
Another action filled day. Pig pens continue to be made and filled with piglets. Water filters delivered. It is a real hounour to be able to enter into the homes of the families receiving filters. Homes are often very bare and dark with little to sit on. One man asked if it was really true that the water filters would stop him getting stomach pains!
The team also went to collect chickens to take to people in need of extra nutrition. Each chicken was carried in the arms of a team member who, after carrying the chicken quite some distance, had named the chicken something very strange to Tanzanians. But Jean, Kiev, Charmain, Lulu etc are now in their new homes and hopefully will produce an egg tomorrow.
Children follow us wherever we go. We even found one child eating packaging material as they were so hungry. It is winter in Tanzania and the need for warm clothes is great. Little children shiver as the evening begins to fall. The team also went to a local primary school to play a game of football. Fun was had by all but the Grassroots visiting team lost!
So an early start tomorrow. We have a number of new tasks to accomplish.
