Kevin, Deborah and the SKM church team have written to tell us how they are coping now that all of India is in lock down. Churches cannot meet and the children’s homework club where the Grassroots sponsored children come every day is closed. But the children and families still need the food that your sponsorship pays for and so the team have worked out a way to legally and safely get food to every child every day.
The team are cooking centrally and then the young men are delivering hot food to the doorsteps of the children’s homes.

Since writing that post the SKM team has continued delivering food but have also provided every sponsored child with a facemask.
The whole world and the WHO are discussing whether wearing facemasks is a good thing and gradually seem to be coming to the idea that wearing one means someone who is infected but asymptomatic is a little less likely to pass the infection on. But it is very important they are changed often and only worn when clean. They are also a good way to symbolise that we must take this virus seriously and encourage proper social distancing.

Kevin and Deborah you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for your hard work and initiative getting food and masks to the children in these difficult times. The living conditions for the families is really hard without the overhanging issues of this virus. I know you will do the best you can as you always do. May God keep you safe in your work.
