The school (where the majority of the children Grassroots sponsors in Theta, Kenya go) has had to change its name. In the process of filling in new registration papers it was discovered that another school has bagged the name El Shaddai Primary School. So this has given them an excuse to update their name just as the town of Theta has updated its – the town dignitaries have changed its name to Judah – meaning PRAISE!
The new name of the school is Judah Excellence Junior School. They have marked this change by painting two new educational murals on the walls of their classrooms. They are pretty good!
In the future we will continue to call the Theta and also use the new name Judah. This is to help our UK supporters not get too confused. We will have a similar policy with the name of the school.
