More distribution of School supplies today to sponsored children in Zambia. Education is free in Zambia, but many do not attend due to cost of uniforms. One gentleman informed us that December/ January is not only time to buy school uniform but also time to plant crop. Being in a rural area and working as a subsistence farmer put enormous pressure on families as they need to choose the option education or food! This leaves many children not attending school due to lack of money to cover basic cost. Due to being sponsored a child receives full school uniform( tunic or trousers, shirt , jumper,shoes, school exercise books, pens pencils etc. Plus an education.
