Grassroots team in the Bistrita area of Romania is lead by Iacob Murza. This year we told him we had only raised enough money to build one new home for a very poor Romanian family, but that more money might come in. So he looked at all those in need and chose this family to have their shack (wood frame with daub, various wood, metal and plastic coverings) rebuilt with proper foundations, thermal brick walls, tiled and insulated roof, render outside and plaster within, wood burner, electricity and all the needed windows and fittings.

Here is the building as it was being built

and here is the completed house

The team were mostly Christians from the local churches and great professionals that Iacob engaged. The family kept asked why they were being GIVEN a home. Eventually they understood that it was an expression of the GRACE (free gift) of God. One of the family spent time discussing this and eventually prayed to Jesus and asked Him to become their saviour and Lord.
Soon there was a dedication service for the new house…. and at the service they were baptised!

Since this Grassroots UK has received another donation and asked Iacob to work which the next two houses are that should be funded. Grassroots has enough money to fund the first house (£5000 per house is the average amount Grassroots has to provide). Iacob has started the process with this family.

As you can see the house they have been living in iis not good and they need it replaced and a new one built. Here are pictures of their house being built:

Iacob was then approached and asked to consider building a home for this family. Again you can see they need it. We are desperately trying to find the funds so this project can also go ahead and be complete before winter sets in.
