A message from Iacob Murza who directs the work of building homes for those desperately in need in the Bistrita region of Romania. Grassroots donors provide the majority of the funds (approximately £5000 of UK funds per house) and then Iacob organises local Christians and churches to be involved as well. All the work is done saying it is an expression of Jesus’ love. Two homes have just been finished.
The family in Dumitrita was so poor that there was nowhere they could live. The community had compassion on them and offered them the village “shepherd’s hut”. You will see a picture below. Rain, wind and snow can blow though the walls. Iacob organised for their new house to be built on the land next to it.
As the building progressed there was a worry because they were expecting a baby…. and then it started to come early. …
“Here are some informations and pictures (below) from the last two projects in 2016
NIMIGEA
The house in Nimigea is ready inside so that it can be inhabited. We used the last money from our budget for electrical installations to the interior, furniture and the stove (for both cooking and heating). Although the family has not yet moved in to the new house, they can do this at any time. Our local partners have committed themselves to doing the exterior finishes in the spring. They also want to install running water in the house (as it can seen in the picture). The channel for the water pipe is already dug.
DUMITRITA

In this project we finished the house completely, inside and outside, electrical installations, furniture and heating stove. We used the entire budget for this house. After a few days we finish the work, the new baby was born (it was earlier than we expected, but it was in time, the new house was completely ready). In the house it is warm and the family is very happy. They never dreamed they would have a house like this.
Both families say many many thanks to you and to all people of your country who have made this thing possible. They wish you health and blessings and a Happy New Year!
Iacob”

This wooden shack is where the family lived before.

The baby who came early… but the house was finished just in time.

The older children in the family are sponsored via the Grassroots Romania child sponsorship scheme (Just £8 per month). The others will be as well once they are old enough to go to kindergarten.
