The team has now been in Tanzania for 3 days and we have asked them to write their experiences and thoughts. Each day different students have taken responsibility and the blog has been posted on facebook along with some great photos. Here is what they have written so far:
Blog 1
We have been in Tanzania for 2 days now and we are all having a lot of fun whilst doing the activities and playing with the children. Although we were all very tired when we turned up after the 3 flights to Turkey, Dar a salaam then to Mbeya (Tanzania).
The activities we have done so far are going to the Grassroots Centre to see the children then we went the the Karabuni Centre where we are staying . Today (Tuesday) we went to a secondary school to see how different their school is to ours. Some of their methods of teaching were quite strange because they are only allowed to teach in English when there actual language is Swahili. The students sang songs to us and we taught them the heads, shoulders, knees and toes song.
This afternoon we went to the market to buy materials so we can have shirts or trousers made, then we returned to the Grassroots Centre to see the kids and we taught them the hokey kokey song .
We are all having a lot of fun and a good laugh everyone is well and not homesick.

Blog 2
Day 3 in Tanzania and it has been very emotional and overwhelming. We went to a nsalaga church, and it was very touching because they seem so happy with so little. Their church was just made out of rice sacks stitched together with some plastic thread and wooden sticks. When we was handing them teddy bears, dresses and jumpers each their faces just lit up and it was so heart-warming. Some Tanzanians said to me that it was a happy day and the best day that’s happened for a while for them. That makes me feel amazing because it is changing other people’s emotions and effecting them in a positive way. This trip is such an eye-opener, its making me realise the things that matter most like their community spirit; it’s so joyful, playful and they look out for one another.
We are all enjoying ourselves and having a lot of laughs, from Olfs and the Tanzania team.
