On Monday morning the Grassroots team flies out to Chennai to visit the Soveriegn King Mission, meet all the sponsored children and to catch up with Kevin and Deborah Kamalraj.
The team is Sharon Anson, Karen Hedges and Phil Kingham.
Once they've got over their jet lag they will spend Tuesday visiting people in the slum and praying with them in their homes. Then it will be back to the church centre to meet all the children and enjoy the noise, crowds & joy of the homework club. They may then have a brief tour of the new SKM building which we believe is nearly ready for use.
Then from Wednesday on the main reason for the trip cuts in. Each child needs to have a brief interview along with their parent/guardian and a translator. We then do a few heights and weights and take a photo. The child then sits down to draw a picture or write a letter for their sponsor. There are nearly 300 children the team need to meet and it will take a few days.
Our hope is that each evening they will have time (and a wifi connection) so they can send us photos and a quick written report on the day so we can put it on this blog and on our facebook page. If they send it, we will post it.
Please do pray for them and the wonderful people in the SKM church. We are trusting this will be a significant time for everyone involved.

The video above is one we made a while ago… but it gives a good feel of the situation in Chennai.
