So …. it is Saturday already. Lots of hard work done. This morning we met the last of the almost 300 children on the scheme and did their interviews. We still have 70+ of them that we want to fund but do not have sponsors. Would be great to come to your church, group or whatever and tell them about how they could make a difference. (to sponsor today go here! or download the form on this page and drop it in the post)
Deborah made biryani for lunch on banana leaves… Fab!
Karen finally gave in and ate with her hands! Major victory for her.

Visited a few homes in the slum. Carefully placing our feet firmly on the ground as very slippery underfoot.

In the first house we learnt there were 3 people living in a small room. The husband recently died after falling into the sewer.
The second house: 5 lived together. The husband of one of the ladies had stabbed her with an 18inch blade, slashing her back and face leaving her for dead…
Third house…4 people living on top of each other. Husband beat his wife so badly that she tried to kill herself by pouring carosine over herself and setting herself on fire.
4th house. The husband gets drunk and beats his wife and child…
So …. “door to door” takes on new meaning in this community.
This is poverty and it is shockingly awlful!

Please keep praying for us and everyone here. We all need it!
