Passion. A church full by 6.20am fervently worshipping and glorifying God and another different full house at 9am. The singing was loud, the young men playing the instuments were talented and Deborah led worship to the God who causes her (almost constant) smile. Andy was planning to talk about giving everything for God, but he is sure that he learnt more than he was able to share as the preacher today.
A church that prays seems to be a church which grows. The non-denominational church that we mainly work with here, Sovereign King Mission, is praying everyday for 2 hours from 5.30am whilst we are here, Pastor Kevin is losing his voice, but he is sure he will be Ok for tomorrow!
Like many churches across the world there are many more women than men, but just processing some of the interviews from yesterday, the church are seeing many men are getting baptised and sorting out their lives.
There is a group of youth who are serving consistently throughout the day and really look like they are enjoying themselves, whilst a horde of well over 150 children who want to come to Sunday school in the afternoon.
God is on the move in among the slums of Chennai and we are very privileged to be a part of it.
