Well today was our last full day. We leave for the airport in less then 5 hours time. It has been wonderful to see a house built and to see the family begin to move in!
Today the floor of the house was completed. Walls both inside and out painted. The team worked so hard in temperatures of 32C.
At 5pm we were able to stop and hold a little thank you God service. The mayor turned up to speak along with the pastor from the big pentecostal church. A small group of neighbours … but now our friends … joined in as we ate pizza and drank coke.
The family were overcome. Their beautiful girl could not believe that tonight she will sleep for the first time in a real house and in her own bed. They are so excited.
The house is painted soft yellow. Looks great. The team have taken such care. Zac even made a plaque. The hotel, as a thank you for helping Romania, have kindly given our last meal and last night of accommodation free.
After that I then left the rest of the team celebrating and went and sat in a small room, dripping with sweat, recording two radio programmes.
So we have now finished…. and all is very good.
