Young people from Bishop Luffa school (Chichester) are in Tanzania this week serving with and learning from the Grassroots team. Delivering chickens to vulnerable families, painting the Grassroots kitchen inside and out, learning to dance the Tanzanian way, cooking/serving/cleaning the pots for the weekly feeding programmes, and Mr Goldsmith is helping them make wood frame beds (as many families sleep on mats on mud floors) using timber from the market. Everyone’s having fun! 😎
Bishop Luffa School students in Tanzania have made more than 30 beds, so now they are working with the Grassroots Tanzanian team to deliver them to homes where we sponsor children. The team turn up with mattresses and beautiful quilts (made by people in Chichester) then go in the home and put the bed together. Previously these families slept on mats or bits of foam on mud floors.
