The Invisible God!

08 March, 2010

x__MG_9249_-_CopyHello!

As I'm sat reading through my little notebook that I use at our prayer meeting on fridays, I am amazed by how much God has done this week. There is a total of 28 names written in there and that is from just this week alone. Some of those names have been mentioned frequently over the last few weeks and some haven't. 28 names. 28 different lives. 28 different situations. 28 different opportunities. 28 times God has stepped in to actively pursue someone....... and that's just the ones we know about. How many others has he touched this week that we do not know about? How many others are being affected by Him and His presence but have never let on or said anything.

Breakthrough for regulars please God!

01 March, 2010

CNV06Hello :)

There have been lots of regulars coming up to see us at the Living Room over the last few weeks and we have had a good time hanging out with them, playing table tennis and pool with them and generally getting to know them. They are beginning to ask questions about who we are and why we believe in what we believe which is great. It always amazes me how just "being" with people and having time for them is enough to open the door to their heart and let God work. We are praying for more and more opportunities to chat to these guys about God and how much he loves them.

Living Room: Things For Prayer

16 November, 2009

livingroom

Hello There,
We have great news from the Living Room Football Team. Over the weekend the lads played in a tournament with ex professionals. Lee and the lads managed to get to the semi finals, which is a great achievement. Our prayer is that these lads will come to know the love of Christ. One lad has now been to church, and had is wedding blessed there last week. Also another one of the lads as taken a couple of the testimonial books away, and really enjoyed them. He nearly came to church on sunday, but didn't manage to make it. Please pray that he will get there.
The Football team as given Lee a great chance  to minister to the lads, and the lads have really responded well. With many of them asking him many questions, about is faith,God and his beliefs.

Rachel as now been with us for a month now,and is doing great work out on the streets with Lee and in the Living room itself. She goes into the lap dance bars, and as built up some great friendships with the girls that work there. Which is a real answer to prayer. She is a real natural here, already she a made many friendships with the workers here, and is excepted well in the community. She as a real heart for the work, and God is really using her in a great way.

We had an incident last Saturday where some of the British workers, and some lads from the Moroccan community came to blows. Its a potentially serious situation, that could result in pretty serious consequeces. The threat of more violence is still a very big probability. Please stand with us in prayer that this trouble will be dissolved, and that no-one else will be hurt.

workeradvertAs I mentioned before we had a wedding blessing in the church in Costa Del Silencio last week, where two people from our community, who we've been praying for, for many years had there big day!
It was a big day for us,because many of our friends who we've been praying for,to actually come to church did! Not for a normal service, but its  a start. We had really good feed back from them. With many of our friends saying "We can understand why people come back here,if this is what its like!". Pastor Bill was great, and everyone enjoyed the service. There were over 70 people there, with at least 60 who do not know Jesus. One man who we as had prayer for over 10 years now was there, and said that he wants to have his baby dedicated there, and how Bill was a great man!
This man is really well respected in the community,he does have a faith. However he doesnt know Jesus how we do. If he does have the baby dedicated many more people will have the experience of church also. Our prayer is that these people will really encounter Jesus when they go.

The last couple of weeks as been positive at the Living Room. With two more new people coming to church. Both people enjoyed it,and came again on Sunday. We are praying for the day when we need a mini bus to be taking people to church!!!

A homeless man who we have been helping for some months now recently went into Re-Hab here, but only lasted 1 week. He is 60 years of age,and very vunerable. He doesn't want to know about Christianity, doesn't believe that Jesus is the son of God. However over the last couple of months he is slowly coming round. He comes up the Living Room regularly,he comes to church sometimes, and also attends the Beakfree Meetings. Something is definatly softening in him, and keeps asking questions about our beliefs although he doesnt know it yet,Jesus is really touching him. He as a big problem with alcohol, but doesnt think he has! We are praying that he can get back to England, and be in a place of safety. Also for his salvation.

Could you please continue to stand in prayer with us for the ministries of the work of the Living Room,The Halfway House and Beakfree Ministries to continue to grow, and for more people to know the love of Jesus.

God Bless

4 Amazing Stories

10 November, 2009

ScottIn Tenerife there is a genuine partnership between different Christian groups. Grassroots is responsible for the living room. South Tenerife Christian Fellowship is doing great stuff in Los Cristianos, particularly with tourists. Silencio Church is a wonderful partner in the ministry to those with very broken backgrounds. In particular they fund and run the Half Way House. Laurence and Iris from Break Free Ministries actually live in the Half Way House and help the English people those who have been through Amigos de Lourdes - which is a fantastic Christian Rehab. But... in truth ... is Jesus who is using all of the above to bring people to freedom and faith.

Recently Laurence and Iris went back to the UK to try to raise prayer and funds for their part of the work so they put together 4 leaflets telling the stories of some of those who have been saved recently.

Living Room blog 14 Oct 2009

24 October, 2009
Hi Everyone,
We´ve had a bit of a quiet month at the Living Room, with quite a few of the regulars going back to the Uk.We think that one of the reasons of it being so quiet is, because for a number of months now, Lee has been doing the street ministry on his own,and obvioulsy doesn´t get to speak to as many people as he could, if there was someone out there with him.We have been praying into this, and on Sunday night Rachel came over to join the team for 3 months.
She´s a great girl, and as done this type of work out in Ibiza before.Could you all please pray for protection for her,and that she will have some great oppurtunities to minister to people out here.Especially that she will get great oppurtunities in the lap dance bars, and brothels.
The Living Room football team, are still going strong.Lee is getting on great with the lads, and its a great way for him to get chances to evangelize to them.
The girl mentioned in previous blog,is doing great now.We took her to the doctors, and since then she hasn´t been drinking,She´s much more positive, and will be having her wedding blessed in our church in Silencio next month.Thank you for all yours prayers and support, she still as a long way to go,but God is doing a great work in her.
A couple of weeks ago,a girl came up to the centre for a pregnancy test. This girl is a lap dancer here, and as many problems. She as suicidal thought quite often, she self harms, and already as a problem with alcohol and drugs. She´s just started to open up a little, but our prayer is that she will eventually come to know Jesus for herself, and to be set free from the mess that she´s in.
Another girl who we have been praying for,and as been mentioned in previous blogs, has just quit drinking! She has had a big problem for a long time, and as said she wants to stop many times before, but as failed. However she has now been sober for 3 weeks, and is still living and working in the enviroment that she would normally be in.This is a great achievement for her,and another real answer to pray.Praise God.
Our real big thing that needs prayer this month is for the centre to get busier, for more people to come up.
Thank you again for all your prayers, and support.
God Bless
