Dim lights

We have just received another letter with pictures of the house the building team worked on in June:

"After the team building, the work continued through the contribution of the local church. I  asked our partners to promise to complete the house, otherwise I disagreed with her size. Our partners have taken responsibility and continue completing the work. Now they realize that it was easier if the house was smaller. Although they are determined to make every effort to complete it. Here are images attached to the stage reached so far. Hopefully in the coming months the young family and those two girls will be able to move in the house.

Soon I will send you information about the starting building of Dumbrava.

Here is a message from Iacob Murza, who coordinates the house building project in Romania:

"Here are some pictures from the Tompa family's house. As I told you in the last email, our partners from local churches nearby have committed to rebuild the house that was bought. Of course, conditions will be much better for the family but the work will be spread over a longer period. There are many offers to help labour and fewer opportunities to help with money for building materials. But the work went forward and I believe that there is not much left to do before the family will be able to move in the house.
Please continue to pray for this family and for the work which come.
Thank you once again for made possible this great step in the life of family Tompa. Without your help this thing never could happen."

Text from Romania:

Full day. Lads plastered downstairs of house. Did a fab job.

The team has just got in from the site after 10pm , exhausted and hungry. A lovely meal on the table.

The house is looking good. The first floor got put in this morning. Steel and then lots of concrete. Very hard work. Very good that it's done and set. This afternoon two staircases got put in.

This evening we are thanking God for so many people involved with what's happening here in Romania. The first encouragement was new sponsors sending in forms that arrived in the post today. None of this is possible without those who pray and give in the UK.

When we woke we found a rainy day here and a chill in the air. Still beautiful but a bit creeky in the bones.

Hi from everyone here in Romania. It's been an amazing day and we are all falling into bed quite exhausted. Here are both the highlights and the moments that really got to us.

It poured with rain over night which was a great relief and cooled down the air a little which was very welcome.

A group of six set off on WIZZ Air to Cluj Napoca this morning. Met in the airport by Iacob Murza the coordinator of all the Grassroots/Benita home building projects. An hour's journey in the car, settle into rooms and then out to the building site (in a small village near Sigmir, West of Bistrita - see map) to see what we have.

Now just in from the building site and this is the team's report:

We are very excited that just in time for Christmas we now have a full range of  "alternative gifts" for Romania.

This includes a Stack of Bricks among other things that are integral to building houses for very poor families.

Great event last night at Tankerton Evangelical Church. They had an "Auction of Promises" in aid of the house building project in Romania. You can see details of the event here.

We just had a call to say that they raised a wapping £2847.50!
