10 November, 2011
Life in Tanzania is always full of suprises and the unexpected often happens. We arrived at one location this afternoon only to find that the children had been told we were coming tomorrow! So with an afternoon of enforced rest we decided to go shopping at the market... but first we needed lunch. We arrived at the Airport location for food only to be caught up with the District Commissioner's visit and an overwhelming number of children waiting to be enrolled. So no food or shopping but a very satisfying day.It is a privilege to be a small part of His work.
Mid-afternoon saw a visit from the local District Commissioner - an important man, and the people were honoured by his presence in their town. He acknowledged the problems in parts of his country, and thanked Grassroots for our efforts.
All the team are well and (nearly) used to cold showers! We're looking forward to a good night's sleep, in readiness for tomorrow's challenges.

We've been sent a message that there is major disorder around the market area of Mbeya. We may have misunderstood but we think it is something about some street hawkers that the police do not want to be setting up on Mwanjelwa market area. It is putting lots of delays into today's programme and the team has to travel a long way around to get to the various centres without going into the riot area.
