Other hungry children turned up
-
22 May, 2010
Good time at Shewa today. The team were initially put out. They had noticed that all the children were getting the hot meal, but only some had the porridge and eggs. After investigation they discovered that all the sponsored children were getting all the meal, but several other hungry children had just turned up, and so the team had given them a meal as well. Lovely atmosphere.Sadly there were a few very ill children there as well - with hiv. We took one back to town to see a doctor.
The team went prayer walking. Paul told the story to children. everyone joined in giving out food etc.
Then we were off to Airport ... for the feeding programme there ... for even more children.
Then we interviewed the secondary students. Sadly there is noiw a chronic lack of teachers which is putting all the schools under pressure and so less children are able to get to secondary education.
Ollie put one of our new "bleach light bulbs" up. (See below.)
Tomorrow the team will be preaching in three different services. The we take part in a community well meeting and interview more children in Swaya.
We have been following your blog every day. What a fantastic bunch of people you are! It must be both heartwarming and distressing at the same time, and we just want you to know that we are praying for you as you go about your daily tasks, and we are praying for the children and their families in Mbeya.

Love to all and God bless

Hello Sue and Paul
How far away from Whitnash you must feel, and so helpless.
But you are not. Remember: you entertain angels unawares. We all prayed for you this morning so you are well covered, and, today we remembered that first Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came and gave strength and gifts to those that believed on Jesus Christ. so my prayer is for Him to fill you from top to toe with wonderful power and ove for all the people you are meeting. Share of yourself. Say a prayer for the right things to do and say. He will do the rest. Believe me. I have been there. Blessings to you. Love. In Christ. Anne x
